Cyprus Sees 11% Drop in July Tourism yr-on-yr

Cyprus has seen an 11% drop in tourist arrivals for July in comparison to the same period last year, said the Cyprus Statistical Service today.

The number of tourists for last month fell to 304,126 versus 342,554 in 2008, with a particularly sharp drop in arrivals from the UK (16.8%) and Russia (15.6%). However, tourists from Greece increased by 6.4%, according to the survey.

There was a drop of 10.9% in the number of tourists for the first seven months of the year compared to 2008 (1,187,128 versus 1,332,406).
