Slide Continues for Cyprus Tourism Revenues

Following a 23% drop in tourism revenues in June, income continued its slide in July, falling 14.8% to 232.5 million euros year-on-year, said the Cyprus Statistical Services today.

Revenue from tourist operations for the first seven months of the year fell to 798.3 million, a 15.5% drop versus the same period in 2008.

The number of tourists in Cyprus in July fell 11% versus the same month in 2008, and the daily spend for each tourist fell slightly from 75.9 euros a day to 75.6 euros.
