Consumer Prices Rise in September month-on-month

Cyprus' Consumer Price Index for September 2009 rose by 1,0% to 110,24 units compared to 109,15 in August 2009, mainly due to increases in the prices of certain clothing and footwear items, fresh fruit and vegetables, tuition fees of private educational institutions and part-time education coaching centres and electricity.

Petroleum prices fell -  along with the rate of inflation - which dropped to -1.2% compared to 5.3% in September 2008, said the Cyprus Statistical Service today.
