New Evidence in Hadjicostis Murder

elena skordelliPolice have new evidence against three suspects currently in custody in the DIAS media group CEO Andy Hadjicostis murder case.

According to police spokesman Michalis Katsounodos, a man was arrested in an unconnected case who made a confession further implicating Elena Skordelli, Tassos Krasoupolis and Andreas Gregoriou - the three suspects under arrest on allegations they organised and executed Hadjicostis' murder.

The un-named suspect said that he was approached by one of the conspirators and offered money to shoot Hadjicostis. Police have since confirmed it was one of the nine men arrested recently on allegations of conspiracy to murder five people in Nicosia.

Andreas Gregoriou, the third main suspect in Hadjicostis' murder, pleaded not guilty Monday to charges of conspiracy to commit murder and premeditated murder. He was formally charged at the beginning of the week, almost two months after the two other main suspects, Skordelli and her brother Krassopoulis, were charged. Gregoriou was receiving treatment for severe leg injuries sustained in a car bomb attack on him and his brother on December 25th, 2009.

Their trials are due to start in June and in the meantime, all three are in police custody.
