June Inflation Rises to 1.9%
The rate of inflation rose to 1.9 percent in June versus 1.6 percent in May 2010 and 0.2 percent in June 2009, said the Cyprus Statistical Service.
The Consumer Price Index for June 2010 rose by 0,22 units or 0,20% to 112,89 units compared to 112,67 the previous month. This was mainly due to hikes in the prices of petroleum products, electricity and air fares. Decreases were seen in the prices of certain fresh fruit.
For the period January-June 2010, the CPI recorded an increase of 2,3% compared to the corresponding period of 2009, according to the survey.
