'Drive Left' Campaign Launched

Larnaca traffic police have launched a "Drive Left" campaign at Larnaca Airport to inform tourists and visitors on the left-hand drive system on the island.

The campaign is in cooperation with the Rotary Club and aims to prevent more road deaths involving foreigners. 430 people have been killed in road accidents in the last five years, and of those, 35 percent were foreigners. Five percent were tourists, said a police spokesman.

Of the 48 road deaths this year, 37 percent were foreigners, said the spokesman.
