Turkish-Cypriot Nationalists Gain Majority
The National Unity Party (UBP) has gained a majority in the Turkish-Cypriot administration after two democrats who resigned from the Democratic Party decided to join the nationalists, said Worldbulletin.com.
Up until today, UBP ran a minority government, however according to the report, this changed when Ertugrul Hasipoglu and Mehmet Tancer joined UBP, tipping the balance of power over to UBP.
There are now 26 UBP MPs in the Turkish-Cypriot administration, which has a 50-seat 'parliament', said the report.
