Cypriot Gymnast Wins Gold in India

chrystalleni tikomitiCypriot gymnast Chrystalleni Trikomiti has won a gold medal in the rope final at the Commonwealth Games in India.

Her score was 25.800, beating Australian rhythmic gymnast Naazmi Johnston who won a silver medal in the event with 24.100. Malaysian Elaine Koon won a bronze medal with a score of 24.950. Trikomiti also won a silver medal in Rhythmic Gymnastics in the all-round scoring with 98.975.

So far, Cyprus has won 12 medals in various events during the games. Medal winners include Marianna Zachariadi who won a silver medal for Pole Vault with 4.40; Demetris Kraisias who won a gold for the Horizontal Bars at 13.900; Irodotos Georgallas who won a bronze medal for Rings in gymnastics with a score of 14.650; George Achilleos who won a silver in Skeet shooting with a score of 144, and Andreas Chasikos who won a bronze for Skeet with 143 points.
