Marios Papares is one of Cyprus’ most accomplished saxophone players, with a fluid, melodic style and improvisations that always have something new to say about the jazz repertoire he plays. With performances such as ‘The Cabaret’ in Theatro Ena, Marios is quickly building on his experience as a student of saxophonists Charis Ioannou, George Krassides and pianist Marios Toumbas and studies in Newcastle and the European University of Cyprus.
He recently started the Marios Papares Trio with bass player Adrian Saltet and drummer Omiros Miltiadous who are both passionate about jazz and studied under drummer George Koullas and double bass player Irineos Koullouras. They are the new generation of jazz musicians and will soon go abroad to continue their studies.
