Boy George Returns Stolen Icon

boy george iconSinging star Boy George has returned a stolen icon of Jesus Christ to Cyprus in a move that was welcomed by Church officials, according to UK press reports.

He said he bought the icon in good faith from a London art dealer in 1984 and had it hanging in his living room, where it was noticed by church officials during a TV interview.

"I have always been a friend of Cyprus," said the singer, adding that he was happy the icon was going back to its rightful home.

The icon will be returned to the Church of Cyprus, and was originally taken from the Ag. Charalambos church in Turkish-held Chorio-Kythrea village..
