February Jobless Rate Rises 2.6% m/m
The jobless rate rose 2.6 percent in February versus the month of January, said the Cyprus Statistical Service (CYSTAT).
The number of unemployed people now stands at 29,806.
The main industries affected by unemployment in February were trade, with a rise of 1,165 people made redundant. In the accomodation and food service industries, another 1,020 people were made redundant, according to the survey.
Construction, manufacturing, education, transportation and storage - as well as newcomers to the labour market - were also negatively affected.
