AN art exhibition to mark the 500th anniversary of the death of Caterina Corono, Queen of Cyprus ends on Sunday April 17th.  It’s in Larnaca Medieval Castle.  Open daily 9am-5pm.

Vintage clothing will be on show from 5-10pm at the Nicosia Municipality Multifunctional Foundation, next to Famagusta Gate, on Friday April 8th,  There will be a chance to buy fashion from the past with the proceeds going to the Anakyklos Textile Project (they are responsible for the purple clothing banks around town).  For more call 9972 2121

Known as the fabric of Cyprus, the traditional Lefkara lace is given a 21st Century image make over in a fashion show taking place at the Lefkara Hotel on Sunday April 10th from 12.30-3pm.  Entry is free. Call 9635 1581.

If you’re in the Paphos area on Saturday April 9th, Dinner in the Sky is part of a charity street festival.  For a €30 donation you can sit at a table 100 feet above the ground and eat and drink.  There’ll also be grafitti artists, DJ’s and live music.  It all starts at 2pm at 21 Neapoleos St.  All proceeds are going to the Cyprus Anticancer Society. 2693 7818.

Cans for Kids is holding a Summer Sale and Fun Day on Saturday April 9th at The ESOGBA (next to the Junior School) from 3-5pm.  There’ll be a sale of summer clothes, toys, books, plants, tombola and face painting.

The Cyprus Association of Quantity Surveyors is organising a Bi-Lingual (English and Greek) Charity Treasure Hunt on Sunday April 10th.  Starting at 11am there will be questions, tasks and clues to take you on foot around the streets of Old Nicosia.  Cost to take part is €10 per person and the winning team will receive a prize of €500.  Starting point is Phaneromeni Church.  Call 9961 2357 for more info

The Argos Animal Sanctuary’s sponsored Dog Walk is on Sun April 10th.  Starting at 2pm it’s a 4KM coastal walk.  You can either bring your own pooch or walk one from the Sanctuary.  Registration is from 1-1.45pm at the Sanctuary in Ormidia (near Larnaca) and costs €5.  For directions & to download the form go to www.argossanctuary.com. 
 
Intoxicating Berry is holding a charity fashion show on Wednesday 13th April at Fratelli.  Showing clothes from MUST, the evening starts with champagne Cocktails at 6.30pm, the fashion show is at 8pm.  Tickets cost €60.  There’s an after party at Little Buddha entry is €20. The ERT Choir’s Easter Concert will be a performance of Rossini’s Stabat Mater on Tuesday 12th and Wednesday 13th April at the Strovolos Muncipal Theatre at 8.30pm.  Tickets are €12 from the box office 2231 3010.

Episkopi Station Spring Fair takes place on Saturday 16th April at St. John's School from 11am – 3.30pm.  Lots of stalls, a food plaza, live music from the Island Blend Singers not to mention Cyprus Morris Dancers.   Open to all.

Diana’s Animal Welfare is holding its Easter Bazaar at the Londa Hotel in Limassol on Sunday April 17th from 11am-7.30pm.

This year’s Mind, Body and Spirit exhibition is over the weekend of April 16th and 17th April at the Kanika Pantheon Hotel in Limassol.  Entrance is €7 per day and includes all lectures and workshops.  More details on the website www.cyprusspirit.com
 
Aphrodite Hills Resort Village Square hosts its annual and traditional Easter Market on Sunday April 24th.  It’s a family day out with numerous stalls, traditional Easter food and drink, fun activities for children such as face painting and a bouncy castle, Easter egg hunt, donkey and pony rides, magic show… and even a visit from the Easter Bunny!   The fun starts at 11am till 4pm. Then on Sunday 1st May, from 11am-4pm  it’s their May Day Day Market, lots of stalls offering a range of goodies, including handmade items and homemade foods Entertainment for the children includes a mini Olympics.  Plus competitions, a sponsored race and ramble and a song and dance show.

The Hellenic Centre for Eating Disorders is running a training programme.  Visiting psychiatrists from Kings College will be collaborating on the course, which covers anorexia, bulimia and obesity. The programme starts in May. More info from www.hcfed.gr
