Car Plunges 40m - Driver Killed, Limassol

A 32-year-old Limassol resident died this morning in a road accident after his car plunged 40 metres into a roadside gully, said police.

Iosif Modestos was on the mountainous Alassa-Limnatis road at 4am when his car veered off the road and into the gully. He was pulled from his car by the fire brigade and rushed to Limassol General Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Modestos was not wearing a seatbelt, said police.
