A father-of-four young children died this morning in a head-on collision with a vehicle which veered into his lane as he was driving on the Larnaca-Dekhelia road at 8.50am, said police.
Irishman Daniel Finbarr Galvin was trapped in his car after the collision with a truck driven by a 44-year-old man. Firemen managed to get him out of his car and he was rushed to Larnaca General Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The 44-year-old was arrested in suspicion of causing an accident through negligence, and Larnaca traffic police are investigating the tragedy.
