Cyprus Arts & Living Events June - July

June 19th - European Music Festival at Finikoudes in Larnaca features the great band Tat-nabar and Cypriot singer Ivi Adamou. From 7pm to midnight.

The Cyprus South African Association of Limassol is holding a dinner and dance on Fri 17th June at the Nautical Club of Famagusta.  Tickets are €22.  For more details call 99300928.

The Troodos Sports and Fun Festival is on from June 18th – 26th.  Organised by the CTO, there will be lots of activities to enjoy.  As well as an eco-camp there’s archery, a cross country run, a mountain bike ride around the routes on Troodos, plus games and workshops.  Full details are available from the website www.cyclingcy.com  or by emailing info@mtbcyprus.com.
 
 “High Heels for High Tea” is a charity event taking place at the Londa Hotel in Limassol on Sat June 18th.  It’s a chance dress garden party style to enjoy music and a traditional English tea at the ultra cool Caprice.  There’ll be a buffet of freshly baked scones with jam and clotted cream, cakes and sandwiches together with Pimms, sparkling rose wine and strawberries.  Part of the proceeds are going to Funraising, a Limassol based charity foundation.  Tea is from 4pm and tickets are €25 each.  Tel: 25 865540 or Email: andia@londahotel.com

It’s the 50th anniversary of Shakespeare at Curium, a famous Cyprus theatrical event, and the play is Romeo and Juliet. Dates are 24th, 25th and 26th June at 8pm.  It costs €20 for adults, €10 for students on sale now from the Box Office on 9999 0535.

Arie Antiche is a concert featuring a selection of old arias from the middle Ages and the 16th–17th century.  It includes, among others, compositions by Vivaldi, Gluck, Durante and Buononcini.   The performance is by soprano Sona Gargaloyan, tenor Marios Charalambous, mezzo-soprano Katie Economidou and pianist Manolis Neophytou.  The concert is on Tues July 5th at 8.30pm.  For more info and ticket reservation call 22894531-2.
