Polish Woman Killed in Road Accident - Peyia

A 28-year-old Polish woman living in Peyia was killed early Sunday morning after a car collided with her moped as she was driving in Paphos, said police.

Dorota Figura was on Michalakis Kyprianou Avenue in Peyia at 3.30am when she was hit by a car driven by a 19-year-old man. According to police, she was wearing her helmet, but sadly she died in the accident and doctors at Paphos General Hospital declared her dead on arrival.

The 19-year-old driver of the car that hit her was arrested and remanded while police investigate the cause of the accident.

Figura was the 11th road fatality in Paphos so far this year.
