All Libyan Diplomats Expelled from UK

All remaining Libyan diplomats are being expelled from the UK and the British government will unfreeze Libyan oil assets and release them to the Libyan transitional government, said the UK foreign office in a statement.

Foreign Secretary William Hague said: "The Prime Minister and I have decided that the UK recognises and will deal with the National Transitional Council as the sole governmental authority in Libya."

The foreign office confirmed that the Libyan Charge d’Affaires has been called to the FCO and is being informed that he and the remaining Libyan diplomats in the UK are being expelled.

NATO is still maintaining a no-fly zone over Libya amid a civil war between pro-Gaddafi forces and anti-Gaddafi rebels, which are now recognised as the official representatives of the Libyan people.
