FBI Investigates Papadopoulos Case

FBI in CyprusAn FBI investigator from Athens has visited former president Tassos Papadopoulos' grave in the course of examinations in cooperation with Cyprus police, said police spokesman Michalis Katsounodos today.

The FBI agent subsequently informed the FBI in Washington as to his investigation, he added.

Mr. Katsounodos said that Greece and Israel were unable to offer any further help on the case. Authorities in those countries were also asked to help investigations into who stole Tassos Papadopoulos' remains on December 11th.

So far, police have been unable to discover who stole his body and why, and no suspects have been arrested.
