'Significant' Gold Deposits Found in Larnaca Area

Canadian company Northern Lion Gold Corp. said it has found 'significant' gold and copper in its Anglesides mining project in Larnaca.

The company drilled seven holes and three of them struck gold ranging from 0.14 grams per tonne (g/t) to 0.33 g/t.

The gold is near the surface and the lode appears to be lying flat, said the company.

"The results continue to support the Company's belief that within the Republic of Cyprus there is an under-evaluated gold mineralising system," said Northern Lion in a statement.

The company is also exploring for gold in the Troodos Mountains, where they have a permit to search for other deposits.
