September Unemployment in Greece Drops to 17.5% m/m

unemployment greeceGreece's unemployment rate for September dropped from 18.4 percent to 17.5 percent on a monthly basis, adding 16,572 jobs compared to the month of August, said the Hellenic Statistical Service (ELSTAT).

The number of employed amounted to 4,051,109 persons while the number of unemployed amounted to 857,656 and the number of inactive to 4,440,050.

The number of unemployed rose by 315,386 persons compared with September 2010,  said ELSTAT.
