Flag Vandalism - Kyprianou Grave

Vandals have lowered and burned Greek and Cypriot flags hanging over the grave of former president Spyros Kyprianou, said police.

The vandalism was discovered by family members who maintain Kyprianou's grave in Ayios Nikolaou cemetary, Limassol. According to police, several flags were destroyed and sundry items were taken from Kyprianou and other graves in the north part of the cemetary, then scattered around the area.

No damage had been done to any of the graves. The vandalism comes in the wake of similar acts on a Greek flag hanging over the grave of former president Tassos Papadopoulos.
