22-year-old Woman Killed in Road Accident

Paphos resident Stella Gregoriou, 22, was killed this morning in a road accident. She was a passenger in a car driven by a 26-year-old woman who tried to overtake another vehicle and crashed into an oncoming car on the Kissonergas - Peyia road.

The drivers of both cars were injured, the 26-year-old critically. Neither the victim or the driver were wearing seatbelts, said police.

The 26-year-old was hospitalised and underwent surgery for head injuries and a fractured pelvis.

It is the second road fatality in two days after an 18-year-old was killed in a Larnaca road accident yesterday.
