58-Year-Old Man Drowns in Waters Around Oroklini Beach

A 58-year-old American Cypriot man drowned in Oroklini beach, said authorities. Alkis Poyadjis was spotted last night at around 8pm as he was floating unconscious in the water.

Marine police struggled against strong winds and choppy seas to haul his body from the sea while relatives watched from the shore. His tragic death was confirmed on his arrival at Larnaca General Hospital and the body was identified by his brother.

An autopsy is expected to confirm the cause of death.
