Q4 2009 GDP Est. -2.7 Yr-on-Yr

Cyprus' GDP growth for the fourth quarter of 2009 is estimated at -2.7 percent year-on-year, said the Statistical Service (CYSTAT).

The survey cites negative growth rates in the Construction industry, Hotel and Restauarants industry and downward trends in Manufacturing, Trade and Transport.

The only sector that has shown positive growth is that of Services and Financial Intermediary activities, according to the survey.

It is the fourth consecutive quarter of negative growth for 2009, and the third quarter had -2 percent GDP growth.
