Reburial for Papadopoulos Remains

tassos papadopoulosFormer president Tassos Papadopoulos' remains will be reburied this afternoon at 4pm in Deftera cemetary, Nicosia, from where they were stolen three months ago on December 11th.

Family, friends and members of DIKO are expected to attend the ceremony.

Meanwhile, the main suspect in the body snatching case, Antonis Procopiou Kitas, is refusing to cooperate with investigators who are trying to take a statement from him. He is an inmate of Nicosia Central Prisons serving a life sentence for the brutal murder of two women. According to state broadcaster CyBC, Kitas is in solitary confinement and has not yet given a statement to police.

Tassos Papadopoulos' remains were located on Monday night, March 8th, and the next day, police proceeded with the arrests of an Indian man and Kitas' brother, Mamas Procopiou Kitas.
