No Sign of Missing Russian Woman
It is the third day of an air, sea and land search for the 30-year-old mother of two, but there is still no sign of her, said a spokeswoman speaking to CyprusNewsReport.com this morning.
The yacht that the woman was in along with her husband and two young children overturned in rough seas at the entrance to Paphos Harbour. Her husband managed to swim ashore and get help, and the two children were rescued and taken to hospital where they received treatment for hypothermia.
Ludmilla may have had difficulty swimming due to an injury, said police.
Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov (pictured above) sent his sympathies to the government for the death of marine police officer Andreas Georgiou, who drowned in an accident during the search and rescue operation on March 16th. The officer was posthumously awarded a medal of honour.
