Man Shot Dead in Limassol

A 67-year-old Limassol man has been shot dead outside a cafe-restaurant in Limassol, police said today.

At 12:15 last night, Michalakis Kakathimis was shot at by an unknown person and was killed on the spot, while a stray bullet hit a passerby, a 28-year-old man, who has been hospitalised.

The bystander is out of danger after being treated for the gunshot wound.

A source inside the police said that there has been no confirmation that the murder victim was linked to organised crime, and the case is being investigated.
