The number of unemployed people rose to 29,931 persons in September, from 28,574 in August, said the Cyprus Statistical Service (CYSTAT).

Compared on an annual basis, there was a 28.1 percent increase in September jobless, mainly in the sectors of trade, construction, manufacturing, education, and newcomers to the labour market, said CYSTAT.
